Lansdowne Symphony Orchestra Season Opening Concert
November 6, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm UTC+0
Join the Lansdowne Symphony Orchestra with Music Director Reuben Blundell as we inaugurate the orchestra’s 76th season, in the Upper Darby Performing Arts Center.
Beloved by many (including Bugs Bunny), Rossini’s Barber of Seville Overture is a popular work. We follow it with another Italian composer, in Respighi’s evocative “Fountains of Rome.”
In three movements and scaling the heights of late-Romanticism, Rachmaninoff’s third symphony is infused with his memories of Russia, which he missed during his long post-Revolution exile. Written for his beloved Philadelphia Orchestra, they premiered it on November 6, 1936 (eighty-four years to the day!).
Parking is free and close to the concert, too.
